🇭🇰 Eastern Thunder FC Women Invited to Prestigious HKFC Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens

16–18 May 2025 | Hong Kong Football Club

Eastern Thunder FC is proud to announce that our Women’s First Team has been officially invited to compete in the 2025 HKFC Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens, one of Asia’s most prestigious and widely recognized football tournaments. Held annually at the iconic Hong Kong Football Club, the tournament is known for attracting top talent from around the world and offers an incredible platform for rising teams and players to showcase their skills on an international stage.

This marks a historic first for Eastern Thunder FC, as our Women’s squad will not only make their debut in the event but also represent Singapore as the only local team competing in the Women’s Tournament. The invitation is a huge honor and testament to the progress and potential our Women’s program has demonstrated over the past few years.

A Tournament Like No Other

The HKFC Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens has long been a proving ground for future stars, with former participants including Premier League players and top-tier international talents. This year’s Women’s category features an incredibly competitive field, including:

  • Wrexham AFC Women – Riding the momentum of the club’s global revival
  • Chonburi FC Women – A powerhouse from Thailand with a rich footballing history
  • Kitchee SC – Hong Kong’s top-tier champions
  • Hong Kong Football Club (HKFC) – The hosts and perennial contenders
  • TSL FC – Formerly known as Chelsea FC Soccer School, with strong ties to elite development pathways

For our players, this is not just a competition—it’s a chance to measure themselves against professional setups and experienced squads from across the region.

A Proud Moment for the Club & Country

The opportunity to represent Singapore on international soil is something our players and coaching staff are embracing with pride and determination. The squad has been hard at work preparing for this challenge, with intensified training sessions and friendlies lined up to ensure we’re ready for the level of intensity that awaits in Hong Kong.

“This is a landmark moment for our club and for women’s football in Singapore,” said Head Coach Amos Boon. “We are incredibly honored to take part and will give everything we have to represent Eastern Thunder and our country with pride.”
