⚡ SYL Boys U11 Show Heart in 3–3 Thriller Against BG Tampines

Eastern Thunder FC’s U11 boys displayed incredible resilience and fighting spirit in an exhilarating 3–3 draw against BG Tampines on a humid Saturday morning at Bedok Stadium.

A Tough Start

The match started with early pressure from the visitors. BG Tampines opened the scoring from a set-piece situation — a well-delivered corner found an unmarked player who made no mistake, heading the ball into the net. Pushing forward in search of an equalizer, Eastern Thunder left space at the back and were hit on the counter, going 0–2 down by the end of the first third.

Comeback Mode Activated

Rather than letting their heads drop, the boys came out in the second third with renewed determination. The comeback was sparked immediately as Haziq found the back of the net with a composed finish after the restart. Moments later, Adam struck a stunning long-range shot that leveled the score at 2–2.

ET nearly completed the comeback in that same period when Adam’s brilliant free kick smashed off the underside of the crossbar, appeared to bounce over the line, and back into play. Celebrations were cut short as the referee ruled that the ball had not fully crossed the line, despite strong protests from the players and coaches.

Late Drama

The third and final period saw Eastern Thunder finally take the lead, thanks to Adam’s second of the game — a trademark free kick that curled beautifully into the net. However, BG Tampines showed character of their own, equalizing just before full-time to share the points.

Despite the result, the performance was packed with character, intensity, and attacking flair. The team showcased great spirit to overturn a two-goal deficit and were arguably unfortunate not to walk away with all three points.

“It was a high-tempo game with plenty of learning moments. The boys showed great heart to come back the way they did. We’re proud of the effort and teamwork they displayed,” said the coaching staff.
