Meet the Coaches

At Eastern Thunder FC, our coaching team forms the backbone of everything we stand for—discipline, development, and determination. Each coach brings a unique blend of experience, leadership, and footballing knowledge that fuels our journey both on and off the pitch.

From shaping young talent in our youth academy to refining strategy at the senior level, our coaches are committed to building a culture of excellence, respect, and unity. They work tirelessly behind the scenes—analyzing matches, designing training sessions, and mentoring players—to ensure every individual grows stronger, smarter, and more confident in their game.

But it’s not just about tactics and technique. Our coaches are role models, pushing players to become leaders, to show heart in every challenge, and to wear the Eastern Thunder badge with pride. Their passion drives the thunder you hear every time we step onto the field.

Amos Boon

Currently the Technical Director of Football at the club, Coach Amos brings with him a wealth of experience. From the National Youth teams, National Futsal Team (Tiger 5’s) to a 17 year professional club career in Singapore, which saw him don the jerseys for SAFSA, Tanjong Pagar United, Hougang United, Home United, Geylang United and Woodlands Wellington. Coach Amos’ natural transition to coaching has him overseeing adult teams in the National Leagues for the past 10 years. Winning the Women’s National League Coach of the Year 2024 was a testament of his passion and drive. His focus is also in youth development which he has been a part of for the last 8 years. Since establishing Eastern Thunder’s Academy, it has grown from 2 teams (2024) in the Singapore Youth League to 7 teams in 2025, within just a span of 18 months. And the progression plan is to bridge the gap to our adult teams as a support system.

Marc Reyes

With nearly 20 years of experience across top youth academies in Spain, Marc Reyes brings a rich footballing background as both a coach and former player. He served as Technical Director of Barça Academy Singapore, coached Barça Academy international camps, and at the official academy in Barcelona. Prior to that, he held key technical and coordination roles at CE Manresa and FC Joanenc in Catalonia, overseeing both 7-a-side and 11-a-side youth stages while coaching teams from U6 to U19. Marc holds a Level 2 Coaching License (equivalent to UEFA A) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in Physical Education. His coaching philosophy blends elite methodology with a deep understanding of youth development and long-term player growth. As a player, Marc competed through the top Catalan youth divisions, including Preferent, Divisió d’Honor, and Lliga Nacional, with CE Manresa, Jabac Terrassa, and Terrassa FC, where he trained regularly and debuted with the first team in 1a Federación. He later played at the amateur level across multiple Catalan divisions.

Mohammad Firdaus

Started his football journey playing with S-League youth teams but did not pursue football at a professional level. He continued to play in various FAS National Football Leagues. Eventually started coaching at the age of 22. Attained his AFC/FAS ‘C’ Coaching Certificate and decided to take on the profession of coaching full-time. In his coaching career he has coached schools, academies & clubs like Hougang U15’s. In 2021, he joined the Unleashed The Roar (UTR) national project and a year later attained my AFC/FAS B Coaching Diploma. In 2025, he has joined Eastern Thunder FC. Coaching the U13 Boys and Men’s Team.

Dhzulkarnain started at a young age and went on to play for a few clubs in the FAS Men’s Leagues during his playing career. He Started his coaching journey in 2023 with a few grassroots academies while finishing up his coaching certificates. In 2024 Dhzulkarnain joined Eastern Thunder FC and was appointed the Women's team Assistant Coach for Women's National League(WNL) and also the SYL Elite Boys U10.

An accomplished soccer coach and a former Police Officer with over 20 years of experience in soccer coaching. Excellent in developing youth talents across various schools, academies, and clubs, significantly enhancing team performance and competitive success. Adept at driving strategic growth and fostering discipline to all teams.

A football enthusiast since young, Tilak’s love for the sport encouraged him to try coaching. After obtaining his coaching certification, he went on to coach in the FAS Girl Cubs Grassroots programme. He is now currently coaching our club’s U8 boys team

I have been actively involved in football for 30+ years as a player. I am passionate and enthusiastic about the sport and wanted to share my knowledge with the next generation. It spurred me to attain my Coaching License and I hope to be able to guide and nurture our future footballers.

Her football journey started only during her poly days but her keen interest in the sport saw her competing for both school and club levels. She then pursued coaching in 2020 with grassroots and eventually progressed to adult women’s team. And she is now member of the Eastern Thunder coaching team.

Coach Rudy is an ex international who brings with him a wealth of experience. He was also he National Futsal Captain at the Tiger 5’s. His love for nurturing youths encouraged him to his coaching pathway and now he is at the helm at our Development Program.

Having played competitive football at school levels spurred his interest for player development. Having completed the FAS Grassroots Coaching Certificate, it has prepared him to guide and support young players as they develop their skills and love for the sport.

Coach Luke has been playing for SPL COE teams and adult league teams in the FAS Singapore Football League over the years. He is currently playing for Eastern Thunder Men’s Team. His passion for the game has ignited his drive to start coaching and has since obtained an FAS Coaching Certification.

Suffian believes that being involved in football can go beyond techniques and tactics; it can make a positive impact on one’s personal development in life. Through his humble football journey, Suffian has learned resilience, teamwork and communication amongst many other things. Due to his deep passion for the sport, Suffian participates in weekend leagues and futsal competitions. Stepping up to coaching was inevitable and he is looking to guide the kids through their football journey

Heng Kiat is currently still playing in the FAS Singapore Football League. The years of experience had ignited his passion for coaching. As a goalkeeper, he hopes to focus on specialized coaching for this position. He has embarked on his coaching by completing his basic courses and now hopes to inspire the youths.
