Eastern Girls U10 Impress in ActiveSG Cup Boys U8 Competition

Eastern Thunder FC’s Girls U10 squad stepped up to a tough challenge this weekend by entering the ActiveSG Cup Boys U8 category—and they more than held their own, earning a Top 2 finish in the group stage and progressing to the knockout rounds.

Competing against all-boys teams, the girls showed skill, grit, and incredible heart, demonstrating that football talent knows no gender boundaries.

Group Stage Results:

• ✅ ET 4 – 1 Punggol AFA ‘B’
• ✅ ET 4 – 1 AFA Meridien
• ✅ ET 3 – 1 Beatty AFA
• ❌ ET 0 – 1 SSCA

Their performances saw them finish second in the group, advancing into the knockout stage with confidence and belief.

Knockout Stage:

• ✅ Round of 24: ET 2 – 1 Punggol AFA ‘C’
• ❌ Round of 16: ET 0 – 8 Woodleigh

Despite a tough exit in the Round of 16, the girls can hold their heads high. Competing in a boys’ division and making it out of the group stage is a testament to their development, determination, and fearless attitude.

“This was a bold step for the girls. They played with composure, bravery, and never backed down. We’re incredibly proud of their performances today,” shared the coaching team.
