Under the blazing Saturday morning sun, Eastern Thunder FC’s U12 boys took to the field against a well-organized St Michael’s Soccer Academy (SMSA) side in a keenly contested Singapore Youth League match.
Despite a valiant team effort, the Thunder boys fell 1–2 in a match that tested their character and resilience. SMSA struck twice early on, putting Eastern Thunder on the back foot. But the boys dug deep, regrouped, and found a lifeline in the second half with a well-deserved goal to close the gap to 1–2.
From then on, Eastern Thunder pushed hard for an equalizer, dominating possession and creating opportunities. However, the final whistle came just as momentum was building, cutting short what could have been a thrilling comeback.
Positives to Build On
Though the result didn’t go our way, the performance highlighted the spirit, fight, and never-say-die attitude of the squad. These are the foundations that define Eastern Thunder football—and the coaching team was proud of the boys’ response to adversity.
“This was a tough one to take, but the effort and heart shown by the team is what matters most. We’re proud of how the boys never gave up,” said the coaching staff post-match.
On to the Next
With plenty more matches to come this season, the U12s will take this experience as fuel to grow stronger, smarter, and more united on the pitch.
👏 Heads up, boys. Great effort—onward and upward!
