Eastern Thunder FC Women Clinch 2nd Runner-Up at Fish & Co 7’s 2025

Eastern Thunder FC Women’s team delivered an impressive performance at the Fish & Co 7’s 2025, securing a 2nd runner-up finish in the highly competitive Women’s Category.

The team showed great chemistry, skill, and spirit throughout the tournament, and were only narrowly denied a place in the final after a heartbreaking penalty shootout loss in the Semi-Finals.

A Semi-Final Showdown to Remember

The semi-final clash saw Eastern Thunder go up against Huzzcomeez FC—a formidable team featuring several players from the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Eastern started strong, with Phoenix scoring a well-placed goal in the first half to take the lead.

Despite holding off wave after wave of pressure, Huzzcomeez managed to grab a last-gasp equalizer in the final minute of extra time, sending the match to penalties. The shootout ended 1–2 in favor of Huzzcomeez, with Eastern Thunder bowing out of the title race in the most dramatic fashion.

Finishing on a High

Refusing to let the setback define their day, the women bounced back in the 3rd/4th placing match with confidence and composure. They faced Ocean Tigers and produced a solid performance, earning a 2–0 victory with goals from Syuhadah and Phoenix, who continued her strong form throughout the tournament.

A Team on the Rise

The 2nd runner-up finish is a proud moment for the squad, reflecting the depth, growth, and potential of Eastern Thunder FC Women. Facing tough opposition and coming out with heads held high, the players showed that they can stand toe-to-toe with some of the best in local women’s football.

“The team gave everything today. The semi-final was tough to take, but we regrouped and showed our quality in the final match. We’re incredibly proud of their attitude and performance,” shared the coaching staff.
